Our Sustainable Straws

For the last few years, Noah’s Ark has been working towards finding and creating new ways that we can cut out plastic and help the future of our earth. We saw how dangerous plastic straws were for marine animals such as turtles, which is why we chose to switch to biodegradable bamboo straws. These straws come from one of the most sustainable plants: bamboo. Bamboo doesn’t require fertilisers or pesticides to grow, and even regenerates from its old roots meaning it doesn’t take up much space

Since the beginning of our mission to remove plastic straws from our stores in December 2020, we knew we needed to go further than bamboo straws. For our more loyal customers, we now stock reusable stainless steel bubble tea straws at all of our locations. These straws have been carefully designed to be able to suck up all the goodness in our drinks as well as being sharp enough on one side to puncture our seal.
